When Clockify is the better choice
Clockify is the better choice if budget is the binding constraint or your team is on Linux: the free tier covers five users with unlimited tracking, the paid entry point is below ours, it runs on Linux where we do not, and it offers kiosk clock-in for shared-device and shop-floor teams that ActivityPulse has no answer for at all.
When ActivityPulse is the better choice
ActivityPulse is the better choice where the capture posture has to be stable and defensible: metadata only is what every plan does, rather than what the cheaper plans happen to do, and no amount of upgrading turns on five-minute screenshots by default. Each organisation also gets its own database rather than a row filter.

No. Screenshots are off by default, are not enabled by moving to a higher plan, and require an administrator to turn them on after a compliance review.
Does ActivityPulse run on Linux?
No. The agent is Windows and macOS only. Clockify supports Linux and is the appropriate choice if your team runs it.
